01 · Philosophy

Building things that last.

Chrononyte was born in 2016 out of a passion for technology and one simple idea: technology should save people time. The first projects were a home server with remote access and centralized policy systems.

Today's work comes from those early projects: programs that start from a concrete problem and stay in use once they are out. Each project has its own identity but shares the same DNA.

02 · Principles

How we work

Quality first
A program built in a hurry breaks at the first thing that changes around it: the operating system, a file format, an outside service. The technical choices here take that into account.
Passion + method
Passion is what gets a project started. After that, a product stands up if it solves a problem for the person using it and if it is paid for: that way it holds on its own, with no advertising and no data being sold.
Give back time
The name comes from the Chronon, the quantum of time. A program is worth the time it saves the person using it.
Shared DNA, separate identities
Each product has its own name and its own site, and you can use it without knowing anything about the others. The same way of working sits behind them.
Your data is yours
The data we ask for is the data needed to make the product work. No profiling, no data sold: where it is not needed, it is not asked for. Flowet does not even have an account.

Our projects

The Chronon is the quantum of time.

The minimum, indivisible unit of time, as theoretical physics hypothesises it. That is where our name comes from.

The Chronon
A minimum, indivisible unit of time, hypothesised by theoretical physics and never measured. The project took its name from it, back when it was still called Chronon.
The Rutherford Experiment
In 1909 Rutherford fired particles at a sheet of gold foil to see what would happen, and what he saw changed the picture of the atom. The 2016 logo comes from that experiment, and the products get built the same way, by trying things.
The Stone
Chronon with the suffix that ends the names of minerals in mineralogy. No such stone exists in nature: the name stands for the raw mineral the products are cut from, which is why they carry the names of gems. Rubinyun comes from ruby.

The original logo

The first Chronon logo was born in 2016, inspired directly by Rutherford's experimental apparatus. A wheel structure with impact nodes, radial lines from the nucleus, the C embracing everything like the zinc sulfide screen of the original experiment. An idea born in 2016, consistent to this day.
